Having a fast metabolism is key to maintaining your weight and happiness level. I often here people saying they are just born with a slow metabolism but i can promise you there are a few things you can do daily to give your metabolism that extra kick.
- Hot & Cold Shower
I take an ice cold shower every morning and also after working out or going to the steam bath. It immediately wakens me up, as well as my metabolism. Trust me taking an ice cold shower prevents your metabolism from falling asleep.
- Raw Fruit & Vegetables
Fruits and vegetables are naturally low in calories but high in water and therefore we can eat a lot of them without eating enormous amounts of calories. The good thing is that your body is constantly working but on the same time not storing any bad calories.
Keep your body in motion is one of the most important things. You need to get of the couch and be active in some way.
Go for a walk, for a run, do yoga, play soccer, play tennis, anything that makes you happy and gives your body a good sweat. I think it is so much easier to workout once you have found a workout that you truly like and have fun with. It is also so important to work out because you love your body and not because you hate your body. Go to the gym with the aim to feel great and not to loose weight. I feel like we always have that connection that working out must lead to a skinnier body but why not just workout because it relaxes your minds, gives you positive energy and makes you a happier person.
Massages are soooooo amazing!!! I mean who doesn’t love them. The lymphatic system is being animated and that means toxins can be released and get flushed out. That’s why it is so important to drink a lot of water after massages.
- Epson Salt Bath
I love to take a salt bath. I usually do it once per week and use about 1kg of salt. The salt helps your body to release toxins and you you sleep like a baby afterwards.
6. Lemon Water
Lemons are an inexpensive and all year round available superfood. Drinking lemon water in the morning helps your body to eliminate toxins and brings your digestion back on track. Its one of the easiest things to do, even if you are traveling or running short on time.
7. Steam Bath & Sauna
Steam bathing and sauna is a great way to stimulate your metabolism especially if you take ice cold showers afterwards. I also love to use the steam bath after working out as it is the best way to get rid of all the toxins that our body releases during a workout.
